It was cold. The coldest so far of the season. I decided to test the run out with my clothes to see how I would feel the morning of the 1/2. I wore a long sleeve running shirt and gloves and it felt great the first mile but I could have easily felt great in a short sleeve. I did wear shorts and my legs felt great! I will for sure be wearing shorts and unless Dallas gets some sort of insane cold front (totally possible), I will be wearing short sleeves and gloves I can toss.

The cool air was on my side. I ran 5 miles faster than I ever had and I was not trying to be fast. I remember looking down at the GARMIN and thinking, "Okay, this has to be the cold air helping me!" My lips are chapped, my face has some wind burn but the run was great!! The last mile I ran in the 7's and 8's! That was cool!

Cool running,

FAST 4

Tonight was my last night of speed work before the half. I do it once a week and next week I will NOT be doing speed work! Next week I will be running but very easy running. No taking risks the week of the race!

It was an AWESOME run!!!

Very excited about the race!

The hardest thing I find about running is the fact that no matter what the weather conditions may be, you STILL have to tun.

Currently the wind is gusting at about 25 miles per hour. Every part of me wanted to stay home and not run. But what if we wake up on the 14th of December and it is worse than wind? What if it's snowing (you never know in Texas) or sleeting or raining or 15 degrees??? The race is not canceled! You run!

So today I braved a 10 mile run and when I turned around at five miles to run five miles home, it got better. For the rest of the day I will be coughing my head off! The wind was absolutely the worst it has ever been on a run! When I got home, I had a message on my Blackberry from my friend Andrea. She asked, "Are you doing your long run today? The wind is horrible!" But since she is a runner too, she knew I was out there getting beat to death by the Texas wind.

Two weeks from now I should be resting or pigging out or limping. No, not limping! :)

Keep running,

amanda

I was only able to run 4 today because I have a HORRIBLE toothache. I have two doc appointments tomorrow and it looks like Friday I may be having dental surgery for an implant. If I don't do this now, Thanksgiving will be miserable.

Stressed and in pain!

speed work- 6.2

Tonight I worked on speed. Glad it's over with for the week. My next run is supposed to be shorter and easier!

It was a great run and I am proud of myself for finally getting my 10k below one hour! EXACTLY 58 minutes! I never thought I would see the day! :) LOVE MY GARMIN!

Improved running,

Amanda
