tough, amazing and encouraging 5.40!

TOUGH

I called Heidi to see if she wanted to run together. She has about six weeks until her half! When she told me what she was doing for her run, I thought about saying no but she convinced me to do it. Let me just say this. It was FAST. It was so fast that when I looked down on the Garmin and saw what I was running, I cried. Yes, cried. I DO NOT KNOW how runners are able to sustain such fast paces. It totally blows my mind. The crying was not so much pain but just what it does to you. I don't know to explain it. The run was TOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But Heidi tells me I will be thanking her for it on my long run when I am a minute faster. I am always pushing myself, working on my time but when you have someone else going to a new level, it's incredible to go there with them. The Bible talks about the power of two. Ecclesiastes4:9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:10 If one falls down, his friend can help him up.

AMAZING

I can think of many reasons WHY this run was amazing. First I must be totally sappy and say that Heidi is my closest friend here. God brought us together in the coolest way and we began our running journey together. It's been incredible to think about where we were last year at this time and where we are now. Last year we were training for a 5K! Now we are training for a half and considering a full after that. We'll see about that! Tonight I kept thinking how amazing God is in how he brings people into our lives. It's also amazing what the body can do! It's amazing I ran as fast as I did. Amazing that I have stuck with this running thing and love it so much!

ENCOURAGING

Heidi has to be one of the most Godly women I know. I have never known anyone like her. Her heart is beautiful. She is beautiful beyond measure inside and out. And if you know her really well like I do, you know she is very, very funny. AND if you REALLY know her, you will find out she is very talented when it comes to making things. She really can do anything with her hands. She is quiet around lots of people but I have laughed with her so hard I have peed my pants. Or should I say running shorts?! She's heard me cuss, she's heard me cry. She's heard me do lots of things. One day I was freaking out over something and she showed up at my door, I swear 10 seconds later. I thank God for her. The last two miles tonight was a comfortable pace where we could talk. We talked about what God is showing us and what we feel Him calling us to do as wives. It seems like every single thing she says encourages me. She is not very mushy but she always tells me she loves me before we hang up the phone. And you know what? I believe her 100%. She is a sister to me. I love her so much!
What an encouraging friend she has become!

Tough, amazing and encouraging runs are the best!

You are such a special friend! You mean more to me than you know.

Let me just go on the record and say that Amanda is one tough girl who is going to kick some white rock butt!

I think it is either her new diet of whey protien and smart water, or maybe it is from watching all the action movies?!?

I have a dumb question for the two of you. When you lost your toenail, was your toe really really tender? Mine is! And, did you wrap it or put any kind of shield over it the next time you ran?
